2012 Conference CNE Information
Registered conference attendees may earn up to 31.5 continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours. Completion of online evaluations are required to produce CNE contact hour certificates.
- Preconference Day # 1 (up to 7 contact hours); and
- Preconference Day # 2 (up to 7 contact hours); and
- the AHNA Conference (up to 17.5 contact hours; Thurs. = 7.5; Fri. = 6.5; Sat. = 3.5)

Target Audience: The continuing nursing education (CNE) activities for this conference have been designed to meet the educational needs of nurses and other health care providers involved in the holistic practice of health care and daily living who are interested in enhancing their practice through the process of reflection.
Overview:
- The world is changing at an unprecedented rate
- Information abounds
- American public is demanding health care that is available, health and wellness oriented, provides options, is economically feasible, is compassionate/respectful and grounded in holistic ideals
- Professional education necessitates preparing practitioners to practice in a more comprehensive and holistic manner
- Research demands a more holistically oriented perspective
Holistic nurses have the knowledge and skills to meet these challenges; however, their contributions and expertise have not been realized on a broader scale. This conference will explore the potential and opportunities for holistic nursing to expand its influence at this pivotal moment.
Purpose
The purpose of this conference is to “Empower holistic nurses to transform their knowledge and passion into purposeful, conscious intentional action for the highest good of humanity and the planet.”
Educational Objectives: After fully attending this conference, participants will be better able to:
1. Explore the concept of Empowerment in holistic nursing as a foundation for creating and implementing personal and social change.
2. Examine tactics to effectively articulate and operationalize/integrate holistic nursing’s unique vision and contributions to the wellbeing of society.
3. Create strategies to advance holistic nursing’s philosophy and practices in education and practice settings, research, and the public arena.
4. Equip holistic nurses with skills/approaches to participate meaningfully in health care evolution.
Successful completion requirements: In order to receive continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours for educational activities at this conference, participants must:
- Register for the conference
- Be present for the session no later than five (5) minutes after starting time of activity
- Sign or initial attendance form when available
- Remain in the session until scheduled ending time
- Complete online Evaluations within 30 days of the conclusion of the activity (NOTE: a CNE contact hour certificate can only be obtained after evaluating all educational activities a participant registered for using the online evaluation process)
