A.Rose Festival Tour: 
Behind the Scenes
Date: Thursday, June 5, 2014

Get a very special perspective of the Portland Rose Festival's signature event - the Grand Floral Parade - in a two-part tour. One June 5, choose a 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. departure. Meet in the lobby of the Portland Marriott Waterfront Downtown Hotel to board the bus. From there, we will go on a behind-the-scenes tour at SCI 3.2, the Official Float Builder of the Portland Rose Festival. See the incredible all-floral float creations up close as the final flowers are added in preparation for the biggest event day in Oregon - parade day! Includes a round-trip bus transportation and guided tour of the float building warehouse, 


B. Rose Festival: Parade Before the Parade 

Date: Saturday, June 7, 2014 
Time: 7:15AM - 8:45AM 
Price: $40

On Saturday, June, 7, put on your walking shoes, because you are IN the "parade before the parade" - the Bank of the West Grand Floral Walk. You'll join parade wannabes and fitness fans for a morning walk down the Grand Floral Parade route with half a million spectators cheering you on to the finish line! Includes two-hour Tri-Met (bus/light rail) ticket for June 7 to take from and back to the hotel, and Grand Floral Walk registration (take the 2-mile cutoff to make it back for the next CE Session). 


C. Rose Festival: Ultimate Rose Experience   

Date: Thursday, June 6 - Sunday, June 8
Time: Thursday-Friday 3PM-11PM/Saturday-Sunday 11AM-11PM    
Price: $5/person (50% discount)     

Waterfront Park is buzzing with Rose Festival activity for three straight weekends, and YOU can be part of the action with a 2014 Rose Festival Souvenir Pin. When worn, the 2014 pin provides unlimited gate admission into Rose Festival CityFair at Waterfront Park, with carnival rides, interactive exhibits, food, shopping and entertainment. CityFair is open 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday


D. Healing Gardens Tour 
Date: Saturday, June 7, 2014  
Time: 12:45PM - 3:30PM (Maximum 56 people)

Healing gardens have been used to aid those struggling with illnesses throughout history. But with the advances made in medical technology in the 20th century, the use of these gardens seemed to disappear. With the recent popularity of holistic medicine, emphasizing the healing of the whole person; mind, body and spirit; we are now seeing more interest in the gardens to act as a healer for many. Join us Saturday, June 7 in the lobby of the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront hotel to board the buses to begin our relaxing, beautiful nature-filled tour. We will visit three well-known healing gardens in the Portland area: Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center Stenzel Healing Garden, the Oregon Burn Center Garden at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and the Randall Children's Hospital Legacy Emanuel Children's Garden.


E. Guided Walking Tour: Secrets of Portlandia

D. Roses in the 'Hood: Ladd's Addition Tour
Date: Sunday, June 8, 2014 
Time: 1:45pm - 5:30pm (Maximum 25 people) 
Price: $35

Join us for a walk through history in Portland's oldest planned neighborhood, Ladd’s Addition. Established in 1891 by one of our most prominent city founders, it is home to four historic rose gardens, four churches, and some of the last surviving Elm tree-lined streets in North America.  We’ll leave from the Marriott Downtown Waterfront hotel and travel via the #4 Division bus (Division street is a culinary hot-spot) to tour historic homes, gardens and public spaces. The flower boxes will be overflowing, and the rose gardens will be fragrant! We’ll cover about 1 mile in walking steps on a flat terrain at an easy pace. You may return to hotel with guidance, or continue into adjacent Hawthorne District on your own  (Hawthorne has cafes, shops, and two specialized Powell’s Book Stores, including “Books for Cooks” and an easy Tri-Met bus ride back (about 10 minutes) to downtown. Rain or shine: tree boughs protect us in our usually light rains, and cloudy days produce more brilliant photos of flowers!  


E. Nurture the Nurse: A Smorgasbord of Healing Modalities

Learn, experience, participate and grow personally and professionally, when you attend these four presentations that focus on end of life, life alignment, craniosacral therapy and astrological health. Learn to serve the physically and spiritual needs of people nearing the end of life through music, experience the life alignment system of energy healing and transformation, participate in a discussion about the seasonal aspect of astrology and the implications for health and well-being through the year and grow with a new found knowledge of the history of craniosacral therapy. Join us and immerse yourself into a smorgasbord of healing modalities.
