CHNA is pleased to host an authentic High Tea experience at the Queen Charlotte Tea Room in Canada. What is high tea? In the 1700s, the two main meals of the day (breakfast and lunch) were served very early in the morning and very late at night. The Dutchess of Bedford was unhappy with the sinking feeling she felt in the late afternoon waiting for dinner, so she invented what became known as High Tea. She invited friends to join her in the afternoon for tea, small crust-less sandwiches, pastries, jam, and scones. There was a heavy emphasis on the presentation of the snacks and on the conversation.
You will experience a traditional High Tea with coffee, tea, sandwiches, scones, jam, and desserts, as CHNA facilitates an informative conversation on the benefits and challenges of being a holistic nurse in the Canadian single-payer healthcare system. A stop at the public gardens of Horseshoe Falls will follow high tea.
