currently have an exceptional opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
to see patients in the Emergency Department and on all services throughout the
hospital as a consultant. Responsibilities include performing initial and
follow-up psychiatric assessments; conducting in-depth interviews with patients
to develop a plan of care; assisting in the coordination of appropriate
follow-up care, referrals, and case management; initiating, renewing, and
changing medications; ordering routine lab, radiology, and diagnostic
tests; and providing education and
training to patients and their families.
qualify, you should be a CA-licensed RN with an MSN and a Nurse Practitioner license
with a specialty in Psychiatry. Requires
current BLS certification, 2 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse
Practitioner in a mental health setting, and a complete understanding of
psychotropic medications, side effects, and drug/drug interactions. Experience
with dual diagnosis patients and background in an acute care setting, such as
an ER or a crisis clinic, preferred.

Holistic Nursing. Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) has been
pioneering integrative healthcare education for 25 years in Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine, Massage Therapy, and most recently Nursing (2012). It is the largest College of Oriental
Medicine in the U.S. with campuses in San Diego, New York, and Chicago and a
clinic with over 20,000 patient visits a year.
PCOM has over 200 faculty members across three campuses, a diverse

program is the first baccalaureate nursing program of its kind within a complementary

oversee faculty and curriculum development and implementation; teaching,

master’s degree in nursing with a doctorate in nursing or a related field
