Position Statement: The nursing profession has been instrumental in creating social and cultural change. Holistic nurses are poised to creatively contribute to healthcare reform and environmental initiatives. AHNA serves and educates nurses and the public about holistic nursing concepts and practices to promote patient centered care and improve standards and quality of care. Holistic values underpin the resilience nurses need to face daily challenges. I will apply my knowledge and expertise to strengthen the educational foundations of AHNA, enrich the programs provided and supported by AHNA, and expand the members’ and public’s awareness of holistic nursing’s contributions to health and healing.
