Employment: Present Position: Associate Faculty for Watson Caring Science Institute
Currently working to establish an independent Holistic Integrative Nursing Practice that incorporates holistic health counseling;Imagery; Breath work; Aromatherapy; Healing Touch for individuals, couples, Mom/Dads/partners,babies, children as well as for diverse family teams; Teaching Healing Touch level one and Introduction classes; Providing instruction to caregivers in Nurturing communication/Infant massage; Mask-making workshops: Healing through story telling and Artistic expression.
Other Activities: committee work on advance practice criteria with Lea Gaydos-Barbados, Denver network coordinator for 5 years ending 2005
Position Statement: Caring ethics and the perennial wisdom of interconnectedness are foundational to Holistic Nursing. Within practice settings, nurses express this ethic and wisdom through developing and sustaining caring-healing relationships, providing person/family/community centered care, offering holistic modalities and holding sacred healing space through their presence. This new role in the AHNA Leadership Council provides collaborative opportunities to coordinate all ways of knowing , research, education and practice into an integrative whole. I offer my experience, passion, and energy in service to AHNA members, healing professions and to the people and communities we serve.
