Research Coordinator
The role of the Research Coordinator is to oversee and coordinate research activities for AHNA.
The Research Coordinator shall be a registered nurse with a graduate degree. One degree, baccalaureate or graduate must be in nursing, and the coordinator must possess expertise and experience as a researcher. The Research Coordinator will be an elected position to the Leadership Council.
Leadership Council/General Position Responsibilities:
- Attends Leadership Council Meetings.
- Attends National Conference.
- Serves as Liaison/Advisor to the Conference Planning Committee.
- Writes Leadership Council Reports.
- Performs Special Assignments.
- Writes articles for Beginnings as requested.
- Collaborates with other Leadership Council members regarding all activities.
- Mentors newly elected Leadership Council replacement during a transition phase at conclusion of term of service.
Research Coordinator Activities:
- Directs the Chairpersons of the research subcommittees
- Provides mechanisms and people for guidance and direction to AHNA members seeking to develop and implement research programs
- Coordinates the review of grant applications and maintains a data base of grant recipients with the chair of the grant review sub committee
- Networks with other researchers or specialty organizations in the interest in developing research activities in AHNA.
- Collaborates with Leadership Council Members in defining goals and objectives for the association and in particular, identifying direction for research activities.
- Works with AHNA committee members to increase visibility of holistic nursing research through publications and presentations at local, state and national events.
- Works with other committees in AHNA such as education to develop resources for AHNA members that foster scholarship and research activities in holistic nursing.
