Holistic Nurses Mindful Movement Workshop presented by Holly Kiger, RN, MN, CNS

Mindful Movement is dedicated to helping you develop mindful awareness of the sensations in your body and to experiencing the benefits of natural, healing movement. It teaches methods for you to generate more resilience and confidence in self-regulation of the range of sensations you experience every day.

Specific interventions include mindfulness training through impulse-based movement, sensation tracking, rhythmic and melodic focusing, healing movements, supportive silence, presence, and mirroring.

About the Teacher: Holly currently teaches at UCLA School of Nursing and has over 35 years of experience in holistic modalities.  She is also a UCLA School of Nursing graduate with a Masters in Community Mental Health and  certified as a Holistic Health Consultant.  Her studies have lead her to learn from a wide variety of noted trainers in the field of psychoneuro-immunology including Dolores Krieger, PhD, and Dora Kunz, healer, founders of Therapeutic Touch (TT), Don Campbell (Music Therapy), Martin L. Rossman, MD & David E. Bresler, PhD (Interactive Guided Imagery) and Fred Sugerman, founder of Medicine Dance. Holly has worked in a variety of settings, including universities, hospitals, schools of nursing, public health, and community based clinics.  The focus of her private practice has been on the promotion of holistic health through Therapeutic Touch (TT), guided imagery, acupressure, and the use of music, movement and mindfulness in healing.  Her research projects have focused on providing psychosocial and mindful movement interventions to enhance the lives of older adults, breast cancer survivors, and persons with severe mental illness.
