Position Statement
Lyn McCright is Network Leader of the Central Texas Network, American Holistic Nurses Association. She holds Advanced Holistic Nursing- Board Certification, Master's prepared.

Nursing areas include academia, hospital, public, community, home health and independent practice. Clinical interests include: holistic nursing, health promotion and chronic fatigue syndrome.

I joined AHNA and volunteered as the Central Texas Chapter leader on the same day in December 2008. I have been very involved with the holistic approach to nursing in my independent practices. I started Stress Resolution and Prevention in 1986, Health Consulting in 1996, and Advancing Holistic Health in 2014.

It has been such a privilege to see the growth of Holistic Nursing in Central Texas in the past four years. Our Central Texas Council members have put together three Texas Regional Holistic Nursing ‘CAN’ Conferences (Complementary and Alternative Nursing), and now in 2014, the 1st Biennial Texas Regional Holistic Nursing ‘CAN’ Retreat.

Watching the growth of our members, our council, and our association has been so rewarding. Our growth in Holistic Nursing toward encompassing all of nursing continues to be the most gratifying aspect of our professional work.

I have served on the Education Committee in addition to being Chapter Leader. I will be pleased to serve as a member of the AHNA Nominating Committee for the next two years to assist in identifying the talented members who will move AHNA forward into the new era of the holistic health care system.
