State of Belief
At this pivotal time, positioning the AHNA as a healthcare leader with a “seat at the table” to affect national decision-making is essential and involves multiple steps. As a former national director of nursing responsible for transforming care in 42 states, I have extensive experience in how this is accomplished.   Additionally, I have 25 years of holistic service background as a practitioner and consultant for hospitals establishing integrative health programs.  I have been a featured presenter at numerous national venues and am a contributing author for the 6th edition of Holistic nursing: A handbook for practice.
    If elected, I will:
•    Provide professional tools for members that will empower them to promote their work
•    Enact targeted strategies to increase membership base
•    Ensure transparent, collaborative, and accountable relationships within the AHNA while upholding the heart of holistic nursing
•    Break down silos and collaborate with leaders in multiple disciplines and organizations
•    Build upon key relationships with national policy-makers and agency leaders to influence the direction of healthcare
Holistic care immensely enriched my own life as a young survivor of invasive cancer. Out of this lifelong love and calling, I would humbly and tirelessly serve the AHNA.  Thank you.
