Special Election


We regret to announce that Sara Humeny, President-Elect, has resigned from her position due to unforeseen personal and professional circumstances. We extend our sincere gratitude for her commitment and service to our organization. In accordance with our bylaws, a special election will be conducted to fill this vacancy.

The application period for the vacant position will open on July 1 and close on July 31. Ballots will be distributed on September 1, and voting will conclude on September 15. The newly elected President-Elect will assume office on October 1 and become President in June 2027.

September 15: Nomination Packet/Application Completion Deadline
     *AHNA members submitting a Nominations Packet to the Nominations Committee will receive a notification of receipt.
Sept 15-Oct. 10: Committee to review Nomination Packets and prepare ballot
Oct 10: Nomination Committee sends ballot to Board of Directors
    *AHNA members submitting a Nominations Packet will be notified in writing if they have been selected for the ballot or not selected for the ballot following the BOD’s review.
Nov. 1: Ballots go out to the AHNA membership for voting
Dec. 1: Election Closes
By Dec. 11: Candidates notified of election results
Dec. 18: Tellers Report to the membership E-Newsletter and winners announced on AHNA social media platforms
