Education

The purpose of AHNA's Education Department is to facilitate and manage all AHNA activities related to continuing nursing education (CNE) in order to ensure that AHNA members, and nurses at large, have access to quality, holistic *CNE and related resources.

*CNE is defined as a structured educational activity that enables the learner to acquire or improve knowledge or skills beyond basic knowledge and enhance professional development and performance.  The content of the educational activity must be applicable regardless of the employer/organization of the learner.

Certification in Holistic Nursing
Certification in Holistic Nursing is obtained through the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation (AHNCC). AHNCC is the only national credentialing corporation for the specialty of Holistic Nursing. AHNCC works with the AHNA as both organizations support and facilitate the understanding and growth of holistic nursing. However, AHNCC and AHNA are two separate and different organizations.

Accreditation

AHNA has retained national accreditation status, as an approver and provider of continuing nursing education, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 1997.

AHNA's maintained accreditation recognizes a continuum of excellence in our provision of high quality continuing nursing education.

AHNA is Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing,
Provider number 10442.

Contact hours earned through the AHNA are valid in all 50 states & can also be used toward the contact hour requirement for holistic nurse certification through the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation (AHNCC).

*In order to apply for AHNA Endorsement, the program must first be approved to award contact hours to nurses through AHNA, ANCC or an ANCC accredited organization or state board of nursing.
