Program Endorsement & Endorsed Programs

AHNA brings you the highest standards in holistic education

The purpose of Endorsement by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) is to support continuing nursing education (CNE) programs that present content congruent with the mission, vision and purpose of AHNA, with the Scope and Standards of Holistic Nursing Practice and with the state of the science/practice of holistic nursing.

AHNA wishes to encourage the growth of programs that explore the integration of holistic principles, practices and modalities into the practice of nursing and to recognize those programs which will improve the quality of care nurses can provide.

Why choose an AHNA Endorsed Program?

AHNA Endorsed Programs foster the growth of holism; have a scientific research base and are already approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours by AHNA, ANCC or an ANCC accredited approver of CNE.

In addition, Endorsed Programs must offer content based on a well-developed body of knowledge consistent with the philosophy, mission, and purpose of AHNA and the Scope and Standards of Holistic Nursing Practice and/or teach skills that can be legally integrated into nursing practice in congruence with the various Nurse Practice Laws in the U.S.

Endorsed Programs must complete a rigorous peer-review process to receive endorsement by the AHNA Board of Directors

Contact hours earned through AHNA Endorsed Programs can be applied to the contact hour requirements for Holistic Nurse Certification and Recertification through the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation.
