Annual AHNA Awards Banquet

Join us to celebrate the accomplishments and efforts of many dedicated and passionate nurses at the 2019 Annual AHNA Awards Banquet:
Celebration of Our Stories


Thursday, June 6, 2019, 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Being an authentic you and celebrating where you come from. Take this opportunity to listen to the Native American stories during a live Pow Wow performance. Immerse yourself in their culture and their story by joining them in their dance.

   

2019 Meals

 

 

Plated meals must be selected during the registration process.  All plated menu options are gluten free, any bread or dressings used in the standard meal are gluten free. Any non-gluten free item will be on the side. Vegetarian options are available and are marked as "VEG." Buffet lunches do not require choices ahead of time and will include gluten free, non-gluten free, and vegetarian options. Vegetarian and GF options will be offered, but the hotel will not be responsible for fulfilling additional specific dietary needs. Guest rooms are equipped with small refrigerators to keep food.

 

 

 

 

Registration Cancellation Policy

Registration Cancellation Policy Cancellations after Friday, May 15: Conference registration and optional activities are non-refundable after Friday, May 15, with the exception of pre-conference registration fees.  Alternative options: 

1) Transfer your registration to another person for a $50 processing fee;

2) Get credit for next year’s conference: you will be charged a $50 processing fee and you will receive a Letter of Credit worth 50% of what you paid for general registration in 2019, which can be used toward the conference in 2020.

 

T-SHIRTS

We will be offering a limited number of t-shirts with AHNA 2019 conference logo for purchase in the Gift Shop area.

ANNUAL AUCTION

If you would like to donate an item (minimum value $75) for our fundraising Silent Auction and Zen Raffle, please bring it with you to the registration table Sunday through Thursday. The Silent Auction at the Thursday Evening  Awards Banquet gives you the opportunity to win, bid on and buy (cash, check, credit card) all sorts of valuable, treasured or humorous objects as well as several education courses. It's a "can't miss" event! Please email communications@ahna.org to give us the details if you are bringing an auction item. 

ATTIRE

Conference attire, as always, is casual. Tulsa's temperature is usually in the high 80s in the summer; Be sure to bring a light jacket or dress in layers, as the air conditioning will be on in the hotel.

Glacier Bean to Bar Behind the Glass Tour: Closed-toe shoes are
REQUIRED for this activity due to health regulations in the chocolate-production area. You will not be permitted to tour the chocolate-production area without closed-toe shoes. We also recommend wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, or visor to protect your eyes from the sun, as well as sunscreen to protect your skin during the .5 mile walk to Glacier Bean to Bar.

Evening at the Tulsa Drillers Baseball Stadium: Tulsa's summer temperatures are known to drop into the 60s after the sun sets. We recommend checking the weather and bringing a light jacket for the game and the walk back to the hotel if temperatures are expected to drop. We also recommend wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, or visor to protect your eyes from the sun, as well as sunscreen to protect your skin during the walk to the baseball field and during the game before the sun sets. You may want to bring a baseball glove to catch any foul balls!

Walking Tour of Tulsa: We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes or tennis shoes for this activity, as you will be walking about 1 mile during the length of the tour. We also recommend wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, or visor to protect your eyes from the sun, as well as sunscreen to protect your skin during the tour. This activity will take place rain or shine, so you may want to pack an umbrella in case the forecast calls for rain. 

Glassblowing: Closed-toe shoes are
REQUIRED for this activity due to safety requirements in the glassblowing area. You will not be permitted to enter the glassblowing area without closed-toe shoes. We also recommend wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, or visor to protect your eyes from the sun, as well as sunscreen to protect your skin during the .5 mile walk to Tulsa Glassblowing School. Due to the nature of the activity, the glassblowing school is NOT air conditioned and can become quite hot in the glassblowing area. We recommend bringing a bottle of water to keep yourself cool and hydrated. Tulsa's summer temperatures are known to drop into the 60s after the sun sets. We recommend checking the weather and bringing a light jacket for the walk back to the hotel if temperatures are expected to drop.

Tulsa Botanic Garden: We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes or tennis shoes for this activity, as you will be walking throughout the paths of the gardens. We also recommend wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, or visor to protect your eyes from the sun, as well as sunscreen to protect your skin during the activity. We recommend bringing a bottle of water to keep yourself cool and hydrated. Be sure to check the weather and bring a light jacket for the activity if temperatures are expected to be cooler than usual. This activity will take place rain or shine, so please plan on bringing an umbrella in case of rain.

Optional Activities

All Optional Activity pricing is PER PERSON. Transportation to and from the event and all fees, taxes and gratuities are included. Meet in the specified location (TBD) 30 minutes before to check in. There are NO PHYSICAL TICKETS for each event, your name is on a guest list for each event.

All attendees are invited to attend this orientation meeting to become familiar with the conference schedule, details on workshop evaluations and certificates and to connect with fellow AHNA members and holistic peers.
