Terri Roberts JD, RN
Terri served as the Interim Executive Director of AHNA form February 2012 until December 1, 2012 when she was hired as the permanent Executive Director. For 23 years, Terri served as the Executive Director of the Kansas State Nurses Association (KSNA), representing KSNA and professional nurses before the Kansas Legislature, state agencies and in interactions with other healthcare organizations. She was the Editor In-Chief of The Kansas Nurse, a refereed journal, and the Editor of a Legislative Newsletter that was published weekly during the Kansas legislative session each year. Terri is a 1978 graduate of Washburn University School of Nursing and is licensed as an RN in Kansas, and she is a 1982 graduate of Washburn University School of Law. She has served on numerous committees and task foreces in Kansas and for the American Nurses Association and she is a past president of the Kansas Society of Association Executives (KSAE), serving in several elected leadership positions for KSAE from 2002 until 2006. Her clinical experience is in medical surgical, cardiac and GI nursing and she has a passion for reducing tobacco consumption and promoting healthier lifestyles.
Nicole Malcom, BSB-HRM
Director of Operations
Nicole served as the Education Assistant July to December of 2012. On December 1, 2012 she took over as the Director of Operations. Her academic studies include an Associates of Arts in Accounting and a Bachelors of Science in Business with an emphasis towards Human Resource Management from University of Phoenix, Axia Online College. For 15 years Nicole has served in an office setting both in management and as part of a team. She currently volunteers with Kansas Special Olympics as the Topeka Volunteer Coordinator.
Events Planner and Promotions Coordinator
Michelle Meier has a background in all things marketing and event related and while at her first job out of college, she began learning the ins and outs of association management as well as trade show and conference management. She has built on that knowledge and utilized those skills to promote, market and grow all types of events form national and regional trade shows to local fundraisers and small businesses. She has also been a small business owner and manager. Michelle has two degrees from the University of Kansas, including a Bachelors degree in Journalism: Advertising focused and a Master's degree in Journalism: Marketing Communications focused. She also has certification form Fort Hays State University as a grant writer. Michelle and her husband have known each other since grade school in western Kansas and they live with their two dogs in Lawrence.
Jacob is a 2015 Winthrop University graduate and South Carolina transplant with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Journalism. His work experience includes coordinating seasonal help for UPS, interning for both the South Carolina Emergency Management Division and Morris communications, free lancing for a local newspaper and working as an editor for his collegiate newspaper. In his free time he enjoys writing creatively, meeting new people and traveling when he can. Currently writing a novel, he dreams of becoming a published author and one day traveling the entirety of the globe.
Membership Administrative Assistant
Becky's academic studies include an Associates Degree in General Studies from Allen County Community College and an Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting and Certified Phlebotomist from Topeka Technical College. Within the last ten years she has worked many aspects within the medical field starting as a Medical Assistant/Phelbotomist for a small town family practice. For the last four years, she has been working as a Billing Manager for ARNP who offered podiatry services at nursing facilities.
Becky is a life long resident of Kansas and in her free time enjoys volunteering at the local VFW, watching movies, listing to music, reading, watching sports, and spending as much time with friends and family (including her "four-legged" children), as she can.
Danielle is a 1992 graduate from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She also attended Cowley County Community College, where she was actively involved in CCCC Theater and community children’s theatre. Her work experience includes a variety of social service agencies working with children, and adults with disability or mental illness. She has a passion for working with children and has provided licensed home day care in the past and currently serves as a substitute health room and special education para-professional in her local school district. She enjoys creative activities. She volunteers as the Décor Chair for her local high school after prom party. She also designs and repurposes furniture and décor from found items. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 22 years and two daughters, 20 and 16. Her hobbies are scrap booking, decorating, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends.
Stephanie studied Early Childhood Education at Kansas State University for 3 years. She volunteered for Red Cross and the Center for Child Development. Her work experience includes jobs in the food industry and 3 years of basic office administrative work. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cleaning, and spending time with family and friends.
Support Services Administrative Assistant
Tabetha is a 2013 Emporia State University graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Zoology. Her work experience includes a variety of retail positions and most recently began volunteering at the World Famous Topeka Zoo in the Gary K. Clarke Education Building. She has a great love of animals and is all ready with an interesting fact or two. Her greatest loves in life are books, family and friends.
